"Reminding people to stick to their New Year's resolutions, today GameStop employees dressed in fat suits are encouraging shoppers at Los Angeles shopping centers not to follow their example and to instead try out active video games."
Twenty-five years ago today, Steve Jobs introduced the Macintosh at an event in the Flint Center for the Performing Arts to an audience of about 3000 people

There recently was some tests done on Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows XP to see which one was better with handling multicores. Funny thing is, Windows XP won. Windows XP proved to have better efficiency when using multicore systems but Window's Vista and Window's 7 takes better advantage of the multiple cores.
I recently came across some HD videos of Killzone 2. Some of them contain spoilers but its worth the watch. Just a little problem, their in french. Besides that everything looks beautiful!
I guess the videos speak for themselves.

These may be the first shots of the new LG VX9600 detachable keyboard. There are also designs for speakers, game pads and much much more. This is a great addition, if you text or email alot then this would help alot but if your not, then just leave it detached. The Phone is sporting the Verizon logo so theres some more news.
"Meizu's been on a tear since our last M8 update. Sitting atop a new 0.9.0.1 firmware release complete with working copy and paste, Outlook calendar synchronization, and a "full backup system," the M8 is now supported by a published SDK and licensed to ride the Chinese airwaves for what looks to be a March, mainland China release. With all the passion it could muster, Meizu posted the following announcement to its English website:" - Enagdget.
My personal opinion on the M8 is thats its probably the best iPhone close your ever going to get. The multiple gestures look a little choppy but the additional options on the phone anre great. The battery is much bigger and its replaceable which is a huge plus.
There has been some images going around the internet of Cupcake on the G1 and it has been confirmed by T-Mobile. Cupcake and its Virtual Keyboard goodness should be coming to your G1 real soon! But there has not been any more news yet on it.
Cupcake features a task manager ( you can only see whats running, not kill it), WIP world clock, transition effects and the biggest would be the virtual keyboard. Thats all the news i got for now. Ill keep ya posted!
I recently got my hands on the new Razer headset, the Carcharias. I've had it for about a week now i have to say, this is the best headset ive used in a while.
Audio Quality : This is the best sounding headset ive used in a while. The bass is terrific, music sounds perfect.
Comfort : This headset is really comfortable to wear thanks to the padded ears and top. The headset is really light and you can barely tell your wearing it. The headphones are big, with an inside diameter of 2 1/4".
Overall this is a really great headset. I would give this a 4.5 out of 5. Not sure on availability yet, but keep your eyes out. I'll try and keep you guys posted!
Razer is well known in the gaming industry for their gaming peripherals. The Razer Copperhead was one of their best mice to have been introduced and it contained a laser sensor with 2000 DPI capabilities, but their newest mouse, the Lachesis, uses a 4000DPI 3G laser sensor. Now the question, is it worth the price tag?
The Razer Lachesis has a 9 programmable buttons. This is the reason why it is loved by many gamers. The mouse comes with software that allows you to program them to your liking.. It even has a 32 KB internal memory which allows the users to save their profiles to the mouse rather than to your system. Basically, you can take your mouse to your friends house and not have to set it up again. The profiles can be changed with the profile switch on the bottom on the mouse. This addition is really helpful to players that play FPS's or RPG's.
The design on this mouse is really good. It feels really good in your hand and has a sleek, sexy look. It has a razer sign on the back of the mouse where you palm is that glows blue, red, or white depending on which color you bought. The mouse buttons are real easy to use and the scroll wheel is nice and fluid. The USB connector is plated with gold. It has a zero acoustic Ultra-slick Teflon feet for good sliding purposes.
Out of all the good , there is only 1 bad. Razer currently doesn't have drivers for linux yet for this mouse.
Overall I would give this mouse about a 4 out of 5. If you looking for the best mouse for gaming, you can't go wrong with the Razer Lachesis.
Engineers working at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign have developed a hydrogen fuel cell that is only 3 millimeters across! This new cell uses only four components : a water reservoir and a chamber containing metal hydride. The first designs of this cell capable of generating 0.7 volts and a current of 0.1 milliamps for 30 hours—but they claim that new versions can deliver 1 milliamp at a similar voltage.
People who have been downloading pirated versions of iWork 09 have got what they deserved, a trojan that goes by the name of OSX.Trojan.iServices.A. The Trojan installs itself on startup as root, and once that is done. It can connect to a remote server and allow hackers/users to take control of you computer remotely. Since the trojan has root access, it can install additional malware and worse, modify your existing apps. According to some websites, atleast 20,000 people have gotten affected.
When installing iWork 09, the iWorkServices package is installed. The installer for the Trojan horse is launched as soon as a user begins the installation of iWork, following the installer’s request of an administrator password
Tim Cook - "We like competition as long as they don't rip off our IP. And we're going to go after anybody that does."
Analyst asks back if he's talking about Palm, since the Pre has some very iPhoney elements, like multitouch. Steve, remember, made a point of saying at the iPhone announcement, "Boy have we patented it!"

We begged and pleaded for an official announcement back when we saw this beauty all boxed up, and comically enough, we're still waiting for that release. Nevertheless, Sprint has quietly hosted up the long awaited CDMA Treo Pro on its webstore, giving those with an unquenchable thirst for more Windows Mobile something to lust over. For whatever reason, this thing is being priced at $249.99 with a two-year contract ($549.99 free and clear), though we get the feeling that figure will be dropping mighty quickly. Let's just go ahead and call it the Pre effect - engadget
LittleBigPlanet Dojo: Valentines Day, Groundhog Day, Chinese NY, WipeOut
Posted by Hokinabru"Sprint had the jump on this by a few months with its AIRAVE, but Verizon's not far behind in bringing femotcells to the masses with its less-elegantly-named Wireless Network Extender later this month on the 25th. The little black box will puke out a cloud of CDMA covering up to 5,000 square feet of domicile with support for up to three simultaneous calls -- enough for you, the hubby / missus, and little Joey / Susie to all be yapping away at the same time. Like Sprint's solution, the Wireless Network Extender uses GPS to verify that you're not creating little tiny Verizon networks in Laos, Kenya, or Uruguay and plugs into the internet source of your choice via Ethernet. It'll be available in Verizon stores and online starting January 25 for $249.99 -- not a bad deal for Verizon, considering you're saving them the expense of erecting a tower." - Engadget
I use this camcorder a lot and this is probably your best bang for buck. The camera shoots beautiful HD1080p Footage and great Still's with the build in feature. This camera features a HD CMOS lens, sadly it has no build in memory. It records great audio and the flash is really good. It sports a 12x optical zoom.
This camcorder features a "easy" button that disables all the extra features and makes it set automatically to the best setting so you can use it as a point and shoot. The auto zoom is really great, even when zoomed in the quality is great thanks to the auto focus.
The bad would have to be that the wind filter isnt all that great and the manual zoom isn't worth your time.
Overall I would give this camera a 4 out of 5. You can find this camera for about $600 online or locally if you look hard enough.
Heres some footage ive shot with it.

The original macbook (white) has been upgraded with the new graphics card, processor, and ram. The only difference is the look, and the harddrive.
The new price is $999 while the New aluminum unibody is $1,299
"in other words, the extra $300 you have to spend to get a unibody model gets you a nicer-looking laptop, slight bump in HDD space, faster RAM, a proprietary display port and not much else." - Gizmodo

"Sony head honcho Howard Stringer will announce on Thursday plans to eliminate 2,000 full-time jobs and close two television manufacturing plants in the face of a $1.1 Billion loss, reports Japan's Nikkei Daily. projected
Potentially more painful to Stringer is a reported plan to cut managerial and executive bonuses for the year.
Nikkei reports that the 2,000 jobs will cut at home — a fraction of the 16,000 positions it plans to eliminate worldwide — will be done through attrition, by leaving jobs vacated by retirement or resignation unfulfilled. The cuts are expected to be complete by the end of the company's fiscal year.
No word yet on how this may affect Sony's PlayStation business, as it's the Japanese giant's electronics endeavors that are currently dragging the company down hardest." - Kotaku
RUMOR Blurry Pics Allegedly Show G2, Slimmer and Keyboard-less Successor to T-Mobile's G1
Posted by Hokinabru
Do my eyes deceieve me? Can it really be? Well guys all i can saw is WOW! The G2 looks really improved. I personally prefer the virtual keyboard over the phisical. The design of the device looks really sleek and sexy, just love the white. It features a 3.2 Megapixel camera just like the G1, and also doesnt have flash. Doesn't have Tmobile branding on it so i dont really know what to say.
PS3-Sense writes "A few weeks ago the Dutch program called Radar has run a special about the PS3, and claimed that after a year, the Blu-ray drive of the system just stops working. Their evidence for this claim is that they have received 300 reports of this from PS3 owners in the Netherlands.
Now, a few weeks later Sony Computer Entertainment Benelux announced that because of the special in the dutch tv program, they will temporally fix PS3's, which don't have warranty anymore, with broken Blu-ray drives without any extra costs. They also claimed that they won't expand the warranty from one year to two years in the Benelux."
A recent rom was leaked onto the internet that has a lot of new features and fixes. One of em, is Internet Mobile 6. it features FULL FLASH SUPPORT and the rom also features a new build of Opera Mini. A new camera app, and a new fullscreen media player. If you have this phone, i suggest you go look for this rom :D
Sadly, it looks like the answer to that question is “yes”. According to The Daily Background, an ad recently appeared on Amazon’s Mechanical Turk site looking for folks to fill out positive reviews of Belkin products, regardless of whether or not they had actually used them. In return, reviewers would be compensated to the tune of $.65/review. Sounds….shady, but perhaps the ad was posted by some frenzied Belkin fanboy looking to improve his favorite company’s product ratings, right? Wrong. Further investigation revealed that the ad was posted by gentleman by the name of Mike Bayard, who just so happens to be a Belkin employee at the helm of e-retailer sales. Yipes. Sadly, this probably isn’t the only case of such tomfoolery, but Belkin certainly should not be applauded for their actions. We’ll probably have to wait until Monday for an official response from the company, but in the mean time this is probably a good point at which to re-evaluate Amazon’s ranking system, perhaps only allowing folks that have legitimately purchased the product to provide a review? Just a thought… Courtesy Boy Genius Report
This device is starting to stir up some buzz. The Palm Pre was announced at CES.
This has got to be one of the funnest games ive played in a while. The multiplayer in this game is just superb, i dont think any other game matches the coop experience.
Storm, the first blackberry touch screen device. Im not a big blackberry user but i gotta say, once i used this device i don't think ill use any other cell phones besides blackberrys. The call quality was great. The build quality was even greater, and best of all, emailing.
