People who have been downloading pirated versions of iWork 09 have got what they deserved, a trojan that goes by the name of OSX.Trojan.iServices.A. The Trojan installs itself on startup as root, and once that is done. It can connect to a remote server and allow hackers/users to take control of you computer remotely. Since the trojan has root access, it can install additional malware and worse, modify your existing apps. According to some websites, atleast 20,000 people have gotten affected.
When installing iWork 09, the iWorkServices package is installed. The installer for the Trojan horse is launched as soon as a user begins the installation of iWork, following the installer’s request of an administrator password
